The client was about to let an Estate Sale vendor include this T&V Water Lily Jardiniere with other personal possessions being sold in a whole house liquidation with a suggested tag sale price of $200. When customer contacted us for a second opinion on their estate liquidation plan, we helped customer consign this to an auction house specializing in fine porcelain with a hammer price of $1,400 plus buyers premium. Net proceeds to seller after commission and fees was $1.200 - over $1,000 more than expected by initial Estate Sale Vendor that had a single liquidation solution.
A client wished to discreetly sell some possessions to raise cash for business needs. We identified this Victorian carved walnut crane pedestal among their possessions and identified a private sale buyer for it that would meet customer's need for quick cash and discretion. The private sale buyer paid $12,000 for the item - and customer received in excess of $10,000 after placement fees and shipping costs.
A client contacted Sell My Antiques wishing to sell their grandmother's china cabinet. We had to explain that the market for china cabinets was soft, but this French cameo Daum Nancy art glass vace that was in the cabinet was a collectible in high demand. When we showed customer the sales price of similar vases sold at auction, they hired us to identify best place to sell the vase. The vase sold for $7,500 - far exceeding the client's expectations.
We met with a client who indicated that they had done their homework and said this figure had minimal value as Royal Doulton was selling on ebay for $50 or less, We consulted experts for the client and learned that this was a rare model and colorway that would be desirable to serious collectors. We placed the item with an auction house specializing in Royal Doulton figures and saw bidder interest extend the final sales price to $3,400 plus buyers premium. While the auction house had a steep commission rate, it was worth it to maximize proceeds for the client.
This black forest carved eagle statue was identified as a high value item when reviewing possessions a client was considering selling. The final sales price was $5,000 despite some condition issues.
The customer was in a hurry to receive cash and had received a quote of $250 from an antiques dealer to purchase the plaque from them. To help customer maximize profit while meeting need for immediate cash, we matched the dealer's purchase price of $250 and agreed to share half of the proceeds exceeding $250 if we were able to sell item at a higher price in the next year. When we found a KPM collector willing to pay $1,250 for the plaque, we passed on an additional $500 to the client who was happy with the initial $250 received and viewed the additional $500 payment as a bonus for doing business with Sell My Antiques. We are grateful for the referrals we have received from this client showing the benefits of treating clients fairly..
